In a major upgrade, our team successfully replaced over 50
existing Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) on a client’s factory
floor with the latest and most efficient ABB ACS580 & ACS880
series VFDs. The client, sought to enhance operational efficiency, improve energy consumption, and ensure uninterrupted production.

To upgrade to more energy-efficient, reliable, and advanced VFD technology without causing any downtime during the process.
Challenges
Parameter Settings to Match Existing Processes:
One of the key challenges we faced was ensuring that the new ABB ACS580 & ACS880 series VFDs were configured correctly to match the exact parameters of the existing processes.
Rewiring in Old Panels without Cable Markers:
The existing wiring infrastructure in the panels was complex and did not have proper cable markers, which meant our technicians had to carefully trace and rewire components.
